Maroon-5-u01.jpg

Monday night was one of the best concerts that I have ever been too…well for the most part. Sara Bareilles, Maroon 5 and Counting Crows showed up and rocked the house. I do have to admit that Maroon 5 out shined Counting Crows and had a huge fan base wanting more. I have been to many concerts over the past few years and this was definitely one that was worth while. Ms. Bareilles was an amazing opening act for the show and if you didn’t know or like her before Monday, I’m pretty sure you just added her to your ipod by now…Counting Crows was good, yes, just good. Not my exact style of music, but I did seem to enjoy it, but was filled with laughter once i noticed that I was surrounded by people who just danced as if they were taken away by something and had no care in the world…ODD, very odd!

But again, Maroon 5 took it all and definetly is being the backbone of this tour! I was in shock that I knew so many more songs than the regular few and then it just made me think that this is a band that goes under the radar sometimes, but they just produce hit after hit!!! Performing about an hour and a half, fans were singing, dancing, cheering, and just loving every minute of these guys and wanted them to keep going. After they performed, more than a handful of people exited the place because that was a great note to end on. You could of stayed another 2 hours, but I promise you, you didn’t miss much! Overall a great concert, and I WILL go and see Maroon 5 again!

A Lot Like Love

A Lot Like Love

Destiny:

. something that is to happen or has happened to a particular person or thing; lot or fortune.
. the predetermined, usually inevitable or irresistible, course of events.

A Lot Like Love is a romantic-comedy about two friends who seem destined to love each other, if they can ever figure out themselves first. The first meeting is on a flight from Los Angeles to New York, where innocent Oliver (Ashton Kutcher) and hardcore Emily (Amanda Peet) join the mile high club, before learning each others names. Despite this spontaneous introduction, Emily is uninterested in getting to know the guy she just picked up, telling Oliver frankly that he’s not her type, and recording him with “3 strikes.” The two part ways, but end up running into each other hours later in what proves to be just the first of many destined encounters. After spending a fun day together in the city, Oliver gives Emily his home number and tells her to call him in 6 years, once he’s gotten his life and career figured out. When an unexpected breakup leaves Emily dateless for New Year’s Eve a few years later, she calls Oliver and they meet again. In the years that have passed since their first meeting, Emily has taken up acting, Oliver has started an internet diaper selling business, and both have gotten more mature and have started to find out their true selves. But Emily is disappointed to learn that Oliver is moving to San Francisco for business the next day. Over the course of a few years, Emily and Oliver grow to depend on each other in times of crisis, and develop a solid friendship. While each  encounter contains a glimpse of what could be love, the timing never seems to be right, with several bad relationships, job changes, and being relocated always seems to get in their way and hold things off. Could it be fate?

Rating: A

A must see for all who love romance with laughter! Gives light to people that things really do happen for a reason…

August Rush

August Rush Movie Poster

“There’s music in the wind and sky. Can you hear it? And there’s hope. Can you feel it? The boy called August Rush can.”

For the past 11 years, Evan Taylor (Freddie Higmore) has been an orphan, but that and his name is about to change.

Evan has “always heard the music,” even when it’s not playing, and one day he decides to follow it in hopes of finding the parents he’s never met and whose musical genes he has inherited.  As we learn in the beginning flashback, his parents, both musicians at the time, were an unlikely match: Lyla (Kerri Russell) was a shy, quiet cellist, while Louis (Jonathan Rhys Meyers) was an Irish rocker. Their mutual love for music brought them together on a rooftop for just one night, of which was completley unforgetable and will soon bring them back together. But when Evan is born prematurely, Lyla’s father (William Sadler) does what he thinks is right for her future and gives the baby up for adoption without her knowledge. Lyla and Louis have eventually given up on music, but Evan begins to pick up where they left off, in New York City. While there, he is discovered by a self-proclaimed “manager” named Wizard (Robin WIlliams),who renames this young Mozart…August Rush. Before long, Wizard is using August in hopes of stardom and financial wealth, while August hopes to use his music for a better and less selfish purpose…reuniting with his parents.

Rating A-

Have seen several times before and love it everytime…you will be hooked till the end and rooting for August throughout the whole film!

Fantasy Draft

24 07 2008

Another year has went by and it’s time for the best fantasy draft of all sports…The NFL!!! We got the whole gang back this year and are ready to see who will take home the pot this year! We all got together and drafted last night around 7ish and of course I get the number 4 pick…The middle picks are always the iffy ones because you don’t get the best or the worst, you just take what’s there and pray to the football God’s that your players perform above expectation and run away with it all! Through all the books and rankings and studying time it comes down to the draft! 1st pick overall…none other than LT, then Peterson, then Brady (Yes QB w/the 3rd hole), now my turn…I select none other than the work horse himself Steven Jackson!St. Louis Rams

Then goes Romo, P. Manning, Palmer, Steve Smith, T.O. and Moss!!! First round complete and all the great qb’s are gone, then Brees goes and I knew only hope and prayers could help me out! All the way back down to my pick, I get J. Addai! He lasted a round and a half, and I jumped on that like my mom on a closeout sale:)! That’s right, I said I was going to try and runaway with it all this year!!! Next pick for me was a solid qb in Roethlisberger and a combo hookup with Santonio Holmes. Roy Williams and Plaxico Burress finish up my receiving core with the consistent Tony Gonzalez at TE. Julius Jones and Selvin Young are back up rb’s and Jeff Garcia as the other QB! Pat’s defense and Robbie Gould conclude my roster and now, I just wait…And pray!!! The EXCITEMENT begins.

Hello world!

24 07 2008

I want to welcome myself to the wonderful life of blogging! I’m pretty sure things will start out rocky at first, but give me a while and a few post and I swear I’ll get it:) I attended a class through real estate that recommended blogging and I thought to myself what the heck…let’s go for it! So here I am, not just as a blogger posting about real estate, but I will bring and post everything that I encounter on my everyday schedule. You want topics? I’ll give you my opinions! But first and foremost, here is a little about me…I am a real estate agent with Century 21 Towne & Country in China Grove, NC. My motto is…”if you think all real estate agents are the same…think again!” I am constantly on the go and love trying and seeing new things and places. I am very energetic and active in my day to day life and I have so many goals that I am ready to reach out and achieve. I also am in the process of opening up my first restaurant that will open the fall of 2008. I also want to let everyone know I have a great loving family and some of the best friends in the world that cannot ever be replaced. Thanks to all for everything!!!
