Guess Who’s Back…Back Again!

16 12 2008

Nope it’s not Eminem this time…it is I! I have recently went on some breaks from the blogging atmosphere and thought I could make it perminent, but what the heck was I thinking! I love expressing myself and sharing and trading information with others. Myspace and facebook work well too, but this is more up my alley, or atleast I think it is.

Anyways, as I start once again the things that have crossed my paths in the past month in a nutshell…We know some people prefer “quickies” so read this one just to take a few minutes out of your hectic Tuesday!!!

Congrats to my GOD awful fantasy football teams this year…I was seeded number 1 in 3 of my 4 leagues and just so happen to choke in the clutch and now am playing in the semi-consolation bracket…

Go to fullsize imageHooray for 3rd URGH!

Go to fullsize imageFantasy Basketball is working wonders for me thanks to the drafting of big men like Bosh, Granger, and Bynum…and my fantastic guards Joe Johnson, Kobe, and Derrick Rose. My first place is looking good from up here at the top…I play above the RIM!!

Go to fullsize imageIn the MLB, my favorite, the Yankees must have won the lottery becasue they are high rolling with the acquistions of pitchers CC Sabathia and AJ Burnett. Now they are appearing to be a force to be reckoned with…well as long as everyone stays healthy! Because these pin stripes got some new bills to be paying, so I hope the best for them, but my BoSox are still n top of their gaem and the Rays are no joke either! Crawford will be healthy this whole season, so the AL better watch out!

Go to fullsize imageIn the NFL, the Giants are struggling and the Panthers are succeeding! You always got to pull for your hometown team, so I am definitely ready for next Sunday when the Panthers travel to NY to put a whopping on those “Little” Giants! Maybe they should recruit “Icebox” for just one game…:)

Recent movies have been released and I haven’t gotten to view tons of them, but I am trying to catch up…

Go to fullsize imageTransporter 3 is another great one featuring Jason Statham who is amazing in the while trilogy and love every movie he is in. A must see…B+ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pbh3CDBNIQA

Go to fullsize imageThe Quantum of Solace…not so hot on my list! I mean I’m not a huge bond fan, but I did enjoy Casino Royale, but I wasn’t really sold on the new one. David Craig is great, he needs to stay around for a while, but again I think they just tried to put too much action into this movie(yes, I said too much action..I still don’t know how that is possible), but it did finish up pretty well and was well rounded. Don’t take my opinion, again I’m not a  huge Bond fan, so watch it and enjoy. B

Go to fullsize imageEagle Eye…yes, it was out a long time ago, but I know have just gotten around to watching it. Great movie from beginning til right at the end. Had me ready for the next scene everytime, but its one of those movies that you just hate how it ended. Couldn’t think of a better ending I guess?!? A-

Go to fullsize imageZack and Miri Make a Porno…what a great one! Actually my mother went and saw it and told me I had to go see it. HAHAHA She hated it, but knew I’d love it and yes I did! Great comedy which turns into a kind of romance at the end but who cares if that slowed up the fast laughing pace…I enjoyed it. My brother went with his girlfriend to actually watch this too and she cried at the end..VERY STRANGE if I may say! B-

For cd’s that have struck my interest over the past month…

Go to fullsize imageT-Pain’s Thr33 Ringz is a good one to pick up and Ludacirs’ Theater of the Mind is up there as well. Britney Spears Circus is getting tons of interest and support, but as much as I love her Womanizer video(http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gZSLIq6YiRY), I can do without the rest of the cd tracks. But again congrats to her and the comeback! Blake Sheltons Startin Fires one of my favorites of the year, and also features one of my new favorite country songs 100 miles!

The biggest thing that has happened to me over the past while is the demolition of my new restaurant opening up here in Salisbury,NC. East Coast Wings and Grill located at 211 Faith Rd. phone umber 704-633-2464. I will be having my grand opening extravaganza in 6-8 weeks as of yesterday! I’m so excited and so ready for this and am looking froward to seeing how the business will go for me. So if you are around at the beginning of the year, check me out and stop by. I will be keeping everyone updated on the status and you will be one of the first to know what is going on. www.eastcoastwings.com

Again, for all who read, I am back so thanks for reading and keep those comments coming. I will be having some new things coming for housing market and questionnaire for people to answer questions that I do have for relationships, work, and in life in general. Thanks again

Fantasy Football’s BIGGEST LOSER

10 11 2008

I honestly must be having the worst fantasy football season in the history of it all!!! After the draft and getting to dominating running backs I thought this was going to be a decent season…HELL NO it hasn’t! This year has sucked so bad I have no idea if I should even keep up with my team anymore! Atleast my team name is pretty cool (HellwitObamaiwantTO)! I mean Roethlisberger has been so terrible, I don’t even want to start him, but I have no other back up worth a dang besides Thigpen who I also play in this 2 qb roster, but the 3rd one i own is Orton who just so happen to of course get injured. All the other possible qb’s are sitting on someone elses bench…My running backs consist of S. Jackson and Addai…wow they both blow this year, just about as much as their teams do! My backups are Julius Jones(no comment), KenDarby(yeah thats right “Who?”), and Dominic Rhodes(just because Addai was out for awhile)! WR’s are Plaxico, Santonio Holmes and Steve Breaston…Holmes is the biggest let down I have ever sustained in fantasy anything and I keep playing him thinking he will break out, but the only thing hes breaking out of is my fantasy lineup! My backups aren’t much better..Issac Bruce and Kevin Walter…but Walter will start next week while I bench “Say it ain’t so Holmes”! Tightend stating job is with Tony Gonzalez, but thats because he is reliable a majority of times and plus the Chiefs never have a qb to throw it far enough so I though he was a good choice! My most consistent player was my kicker Gould until I had to drop him during a bye week thinking no one would snatch him up, but I think my league has it out for me since I have killed in every fantasy league sport this year, and they take him too, so I no rely on Josh Scobee…I play defenses week by week depending on opponents because there isn’t much else I can do! I am so bad, my 3 week total has now just broke the 125 mark….I hate this season and I had to share with someone, so feel my pain, Yours cant be no worse than mine!

Obama 08′

5 11 2008

Go to fullsize imageI usually keep to myself and don’t express somethings, but might as well now give it a whirl!!! I want to give a congratulations to Obama for winning the election this year and becoming our new president! But here is the issue…Why does the topic of race come up every time his name arrives? I thought racism was gone years ago, but the issue still comes up. I thought we are all Americans…not white Americans and African-Americans? “The first African-American president.” Yes, he is…we got it, so let it go! I like some of his ideas for the change and support some of them, and I could care less if he was purple, as long as it helps me out through my life. I hate when those phrases are use throughout society…For instance in sports when they bring up the topic about African-American head coaches…Who cares? A good coach has nothing to do about color, its the way they carry themselves and how many wins they accumulate! Things can go great for a period of time, but then you will have that one comment or phrase that just rubs me the wrong way by the color issue! Again, I could care less and i know several others who don’t mind either, but when comments like those are made, that is what needs to be kept inside and kept quite! Again, congrats on Obama winning! He’s the new president of the United States for the next few years…he’s the Americans president so lets just leave it at that and leave the other things out of it. Our country can change by starting out with that first!

RR/RW Challenge: The Island

31 10 2008

It’s finally over…The RR/RW Challenge: The Island has finally come to an ending! After a sweet turn of events that allowed Ev to go back into a challenge and fight for her chance to win a key, I knew it was settled! The final challenge was to have you ankles bound together and with your hands behind your back holding a weight with both hands on it at all times and to kick your self up after hitting the bottom to catch your breath! Intense I know, and I will be trying this once the pool reopens next summer! Eve proved she was the toughest outlasting everyone else and then she had the decision on whoms key to take. Get revenge back on Johnny, or go a different route and take someone elses???? I think she made the best choice when deciding to take Dunbar’s key, because he was givin that key, it never was earned, plus why wouldn’t you want Johnny on your boat! Yes, he was a huge dick towards Eve throughout it all, but come on now, I’ll split 300,000 with a dick as long as I get to split it! And of course, the ones who got there first on their boat were Kenny, Johnny, Brad, Derrick, and Ev…Pour Paula spent all this time on the island working in Kenny and Johnny’s alliance, but failed to come out on top. She completley got tossed to the side, but you are there to win and I would choose Ev over Paula any day, well besides on a beauty pagent! Congrats to the Red team and can’t wait to see the next one!

I got what you need…

28 10 2008

Go to fullsize imageI am finally back again..I know I said it last time, but seriously this time I’m back and will have tons of post! Lifes been hectic and there has been tons of things for me to do and ALOT of running around! Updates from all around that I have seen and done over the past few days…

Go to fullsize imageI’m back addicted to The Island on MTV on Wednesday nights! Haven’t missed an episode and I’m really excited to see if Eve can win this weeks challenge and get Johnny’s key back! Go to fullsize image

Go to fullsize imageMissed VH1’s Pick-Up Artist 2 this week, I really hate that because its very interesting that this kind of crap works to some extent, but to see grown men struggle to pick up women is great! I so should be on that show, because I have no clue what the heck I am doing anyways, I guess that’s why I choose to stay dateless and save my self from embarrassment and rejection!

Kenny Chesney 'Lucky Old Sun' Deluxe Edition CDI recently got probably my least favorite album in a long time…Lucky Old Sun by Kenny Chesney! If you want my opinion, don’t bother with it! Just wait for the 2 hits to be on the radio because I was extremly disappointed in it! But you still got to love Kenny, and I will still be attending his concert next year!

Go to fullsize imageAttended Scarowinds this past Saturday and I will let everyone know that you HAVE TO GO!!! Only open 3 more days, andit’s totally worth it! Yes, a little pricey at $42 a head, but 5 hours open and 12 haunted houses and trails, plus all the rides are open..it’s well worth it. Now we did go this past Saturday, and it was extremely busy around 8ish so get there a little early gates open at 7 and we honestly waited in line for an average of 15 minutes on all the houses and trails! Now if you are going for the rides, plan to wait a lot longer because they can only accommodate between 12-20 each time depending on the ride and how many different coasters are running. But again, I will repeat, the trails and houses are great and   well worth it!

Go to fullsize imageFantasy football has finally dulled down for me and I absolutely hate it again this year!!! After a very disappointing 43 total points for a 11 man slot I have decided to just pray for miracles and prepare for NBA Fantasy!! S. Jackson didn’t play, Addai is still hurt, Roethlisberger threw 4 picks, Holmes prefers marijuana over playing time…Its a very disappointing season for me and my staff! Only way from here is up and there’s not much worse i can do than this so maybe I can still be in the top 6 for playoffs!

Go to fullsize imageBack to Fantasy Basketball, I happen to of missed the draft last night due to my jerk commissioner who said he’d move the time back an hour so I could attend, but heck no!!! I show up at the house at 10 and my team is already picked for me! I did get the number one pick and the computer did give me Kobe, but maybe I would of took King James?!? I guess we wil have to see. But I did get Bynum in the 3rd and Oden in the 5th round so I was excited and hope my big men can lead me to the promise land of champions just like they did last year!

Go to fullsize imageI also attended the Carolina Panther game on Sunday at Bank of America Stadium and had a great time. I took my father for his birthday, and he loves going there every year, so I guess I’ll have to make it a ritual now! Steve Smith and the rest of the Panthers played a great 2nd half of football and was able to outlast the Arizona Cardinals and win their 6th game of the season to bring them to 6-2 for the season and sitting in first in their division! Impressive win, and hopefully after their bye week they can come back strong and beat Oakland and keep up the great play!

Go to fullsize imageUFC fight Saturday night was a huge let down!!! Once my restaurant opens, I will be having these once a month and hope for all to attend, but gracious I hope nothing like this fight between Corte and Silva ever happens again, because I will be extremely pissed and hope that customers won’t get upset and start a riot lol! Terrible fight and hope that Dana White gets Silva a stiffer competitor for his next fight and make him earn everything that night. Nothing away from Silva, he is a heck of a fighter and probably a great man, but just left me very disappointed after Saturday night, because I wanted to see him crush Corte and let his name be chanted throughout the stadium! Bring on Liddell or one of my favorites…St. Pierre!

Go to fullsize imageWorld Series is almost to a conclusion and I really hoped it went all 7 games, but heck we might be waiting til Thanksgiving to finish game 5!!!! Phillies have impressed us all with their bats and pitching while the Rays have impressed us all year with all their efforts and everything that they have accomplished and done right! Maybe a little on the tired side, or maybe the Phillies are just that much better, but I watched both teams play in person this year and couldn’t be any happier for whoever wins it all. Both teams are extremely talented, and will be top contenders again next year!Go to fullsize image

Joe Pa for President!!!! Penn State is off to one of their best starts in years!!! I have rooted for Penn State for years and am so glad that they are where they are this year! Impressive wins, even if it wasn’t a blow out last Saturday, but we will take it. Being that my brother is a Texas fan, I would love to see these two teams in the National Championship! So best of luck…Go Nittany Lions

I’m Back…

2 10 2008

It’s been weeks and seems forever since I have posted something on here…and actuality it has been! I have been extremely busy over the past 3 weeks, running here and there and everywhere, but here is a quick updated post of all I have caught and done and experienced in the past few weeks in one post just for you all so enjoy! Oh yeah, everyone loves pictures, so enjoy…

Go to fullsize imageFantasy Football…bombed another one in week 2(thanks again s. jackson), but quickly recovered in week 3 and 4! Thanks to the Steelers OT win in week 4 that got me the 1-pt. win to be sitting in 5th place at 2-2.

Go to fullsize imageFantasy baseball…dominated all year long and finished it off unlike the Patriots of last year! Even though Crawford and Kinslerhad season ending injuries, my drafting skills were tip-top with picking speed over anything else! I stole the trophy and the bases all year long!!!

Fantasy Hockey started last night..ummmm Image PreviewWe had a live draft, but no one was there! This is going to be fun lol At least we all have cool team names in remembrance of the Mighty Ducks Trilogy!

Image PreviewHad a road trip to Baltimore to watch the Tampa Bay Rays clinch!!! 5th ballpark this year, and Camden Yards is number 1 on my list so far of stadiums and surrounding areas to see. Now only 27 more to go…I’ll start back up in March:)

Go to fullsize imageWatched the movie Mirrors…very scary at some points, a little odd at the end, but scary throughout the rest of it…Rating: B-

Go to fullsize imageWorst movie of all time possibly Journey to the Center of the Earth with Branden Fraiser…movie is god awful and cannot believe I kept watching but I swore it had to get better, but NO!!! Rating:E (don’t waste your time)

Go to fullsize imageMost recent funny movie College is down right hilarious! Went to the theatre with 12 friends…laughed the whole time! Just like Superbad…funny from start to finish. Rating:B+

Go to fullsize imageA new suspense/drama movie Righteous Kill is out with Al Pacino and Robert DeNiro, and I must see this is a GREAT one too! You are hooked and guessing from the first kill of what is going to happen. What an amazing duo them two are! Rating:A

Go to fullsize imageDancing with the Stars has began…not as much hooked as I first thought I’d be…Picked Brooke and Kim to be in the finals…well at leastBrooke’s still in the race! Kim…huge disappointment, you have no idea how much faith I had in you!

I am hooked on The Island with Real World/Road Rules Challenge…Watch it every year and no matter what you know is going to happen it still gets you going! For some reason I would love to be on that show to see if reality people are really that crazy or if it’s just being around those others and having yourself taped that makes you that way! I can do the same things they do, and I wouldn’t bitch about it like they do! Sign me up!!!

Go to fullsize imageT.I.’s latest album Paper Trailis the shiznit!!! One of the best rap albums I’ve heard in a long time…Yes, Tha Carter III is still better, but hot dang this one is HOTT! NeYo’s-Year of the Gentleman is also a good one…Some songs you can skip over, but overall pretty dang sweet!

Go to fullsize imageMLB Postseason started…Poor Mets…Got a friends who pitches for them, and I love their uniforms, but they just can’t make it! I’m a Red Sox fan and they are up 1-0 and looking forward to hopefully another championship! I’m a huge Ken Griffey Jr. fan, and so glad that he’s in the post-season after a 10 yr drought! All my friends are Cub fans, and are sitting on the edge of their seats every pitch, so I love pulling against them. Thank you very much to Loney and Manny for last nights beating!!!

I think that’s about all I have for you guys over these past few weeks…I’ll keep looking over things and double checking, but I’m back a full steam ahead! Thanks for reading

Dear Santa…

11 09 2008

Dear Santa, all I want for Christmas is an Ocho CInco jersey!!!

Well it might happen, but it is going to cost…No not Santa, but Chad Ocho Cinco!

Chad Johnson-Don’t expect to see Chad Ocho Cinco wearing his new name on a jersey anytime soon. CNBC’s Darren Rovell reports on his blog that the former Mr. Johnson would be forced to buy out the stock of the 100,000 remaining C.Johnson jerseys before making the switch to “Ocho Cinco”. If Reebok asked Ocho Cinco to pay for the cost of making the unsold jerseys, the total could reach upwards of $4 million (or $50 million pesos).

Because Johnson changed his name so close to the start of the season, Reebok was left in a bind since they’d have to produce new jerseys and eat the old ones. That’s why the NFL has told Johnson he’d have to reimburse the company for the price of the jerseys. (Reported in Yahoo!sports)

No wonder the NFL stands for No Fun League! First no endzone celebrations and now this! It’s entertainment, and I REALLY want one! If Mr. Ocho Cinco does go forward with the purchase of these jerseys, I hope he reads this because I want to be one of the first to receive an old and a new jersey! I’m a huge fan and trust me there are plenty more around my area too. Again, we traveled 4 hours to watch you play a preseason game and chant your name! Go for it 85, Reebok will make their money back and so will you!

Fantasy Week 1

10 09 2008

Go to fullsize imageWeek one has come and gone and another upsetting year is on the horizon for me and my unlikely dominating fantasy team. Last year Drew Brees got me -7 in a crucial matchup, and then Brian Westbrook doing the “team” thing downed it inside the 5 yard line to give his team the win which made me lose by 4!!! That was last year, the past is the past..Right? Well, I unfortunately lost by a whopping 32 this week thanks to efforts of 44 fn points by Michael Turner!?! That’s right LT’s previous backup! It’s the Falcons and are you serious, he’s going to blow me out like this. Week one is over, the start of my redemption season is looking bad! I mean how does S. Jackson and J. Addai but up a combined 11 pts? Oh right, because the Rams blow and the Colts just looked awful and rusty! Hopes for week 2 could turn things around, but my opponent has Andre Johnson, A. Peterson, R. Wayne and W. Parker…Things aren’t looking good unless the football fantasy gods have received my prayers!!! Only time will tell!

VMAs

8 09 2008

Last night was the annual MTV VMA’s which I looked forward to every year, but this one was the 25th anniversary so I was expecting excitement…It was a toss up between Coltsvs. Bears or this, but saw the score and had to stick with this even if it will be showed another 23 odd times before next week…Overall, great show loved it form beginning to end. Absolutely loved the house band with Travis Barker who is very gifted and DJ AM. A little disturbed by the hosting of Russell Brand, funny at some moments(real funny in Forgetting Sarah Marshall), but definitely couldn’t get off the Jonas Brothers case about their promise rings. One jokes okay, 2 he was pushing it, but he never let it go…I’m glad Jordin Sparks stood up and said what she did (”I just wanna say, it’s not bad to wear a promise ring because not every guy and a girl wants to be a slut, OK?” ). Anyways lets get off the Brand topic and look over all the winners…Britney Spears had an amazing evening winning 3 moon-men thanks to Pieces of Me,and she looked absolutely stunning in her dress. Rihanna performed twice last night, once withTI and another by herself with the great song Disterbia. The Jonas Brothers, Kid Rock, Lil Wayne, Katie Perry, Pink, Paramore, and Kanye West all performed and everyone did a stellar job! Christina Aguilera also performed, but really all she did was some lip-syncing. She looked great while doing it, but we all seen it! My favorite performance was definitely Pink’s So What, which was remarkable and also didn’t help that she looked absolutely HOTT!!! Lil Wayne’s A Milli was great besides the sagging and crotch grabbing, but hey, it got the job done?!?

All in all this was a pretty calm VMA’s compared to moments before! Yes a few sexual comments were made, cussing here and there, and several one liners, but other than that…To be 25thAnniversary? Come on now, I really was hoping for mayhem like advertised!!! I guess we will just have to wait til next year and see how they can out shine and blow this years out of the water! Here’s a few suggestions, more performances like Pink’s and Lil Wayne’s, and less like lip-syncing Christina, oh yeah, and a better host!!!

Gone and Dunn IT!

8 09 2008

Image PreviewFriday night I attended the Brooks and Dunn and ZZ Top concert in Charlotte, NC at Verizon Wireless Amphitetre. I know it was several days ago, but been busy busy busy!!! Rodney Atkins kicked things off and he was very impressive..Hits like Cleaning My Gun and These are my People were sung throuhgout the fans and was very enjoyable. You could definetly tell the BnD fans from the ZZ ones, but it was all good. BnD preformed hit after hit and even the rains from the storm couldn’t wash them away. Everyone wanted more! I heard they always put on a great show, so I was glad to see for myself that they did an amazing job form beginning to end. I also had no idea they had that many hits and that I knew so many, but I found myself singing along with the best of them! ZZ Top rounded up the evening with a great perfomance and we all seemed to enjoy it. Not a huge fan, but found myself enjoying this one and likeing a vast majority of their tunes. All in all if you didn’t attend due to the storm and or likes of music…you missed a great one. I will definetly be up for attending another BnD concert in years to come.
